  • We have been using the Sarah and David Interactive Curriculum for many reasons:

    1. Whenever I had a question or concern, I called Sarah and David and there was always someone to address my concerns.

    2. Diana trained my teachers via conference call. How wonderful is that! She reviewed everything with my teachers and answered all of their questions. She was dynamic, interactive and very helpful. We were very grateful for this added bonus.

    3. As the Religious School Director, and a teacher myself, I love the fact that every unit is built upon the previous one. Same decoding, same symbols… it is so helpful if I need to use a substitute teacher or need to switch teachers from class to class.

    4. The material is very easy to learn and teach. Our students learned so much this year due to all of the story pictures and the decoding system.

    5. I had a real challenge this year, having had older students who had never learned the Alep-Bet. Sarah and David had a beginner’s book that wasn’t too childish for those older students. They were able to learn the required curriculum quickly!

Yashar Koach and thank you for a job well done! This is truly a great product.

  • I love your series. My kids cannot forget the Aleph-Bet, if they had wanted to! Thanks so much!
Keep up the great work and I highly recommend you to others!

  • Throughout my thirty-plus years of teaching children how to master Hebrew reading, I have gone through all of the programs offered by the various publishing companies.

Although each one seemed to be more modern in the way their program was presented, I found that they all failed to meet my needs as the Principal of an afternoon after school program, or the needs of the instructors and their students whose time in class is limited to two hours per week.

Then, towards the end of last summer, I happened upon a mailing from what I lovingly refer to as the Sarah & David experience and everything changed, especially our school’s reading program.

This "awesome" program, was created and developed by Diana Yacobi, an experienced educational director of synagogue schools, and her daughter, Lily Yacobi, a bar/bat mitzvah tutor and business woman, two marvelously talented women.

The program takes away every obstacle that would hamper a child’s ability to learn Hebrew resulting in the total success of the learning experience.

Designed to fit the individual needs of all students, these wonderful books contain hidden lessons within the lessons. Children are unaware that they are constantly reviewing as they move ahead. In particular, ‘beats and baskets’ is an incredible technique, removing a child’s fear of reading long and unfamiliar words.

I incorporated this program into our curriculum this year and the results were amazing. As our school year comes to an end, I'm proud to say that our children's ability to read the Hebrew language is surpassed only by their confidence in their own ability do so.

Thank you both from the newest member of your fan club.

  • After thoroughly testing the Hebrew reading of every student in the school, we noted
DRAMATIC improvement in Hebrew reading fluency since we started using Sarah and David.
Everyone loves the beats and baskets! The students and teachers also like The Bar/Bat Mitzvah
Book. The students were very excited to have Hebrew be “relevant” to their concerns. The
Hebrew review in the beginning was wonderful as is the whole beginning section. Thank you for
    all your help and information.

  • Our first graders are using Read Hebrew Books 1 and 2 this year, and they love it! They
feel very excited to be learning real Hebrew and doing work at home like big kids. They feel
respected by the program, happy to have a textbook that challenges them.

  • I teach Hebrew and Jewish Studies in a special needs day school classroom which includes children from grades K-5. I found the series to be a very valuable and effective tool in both introducing and reviewing the Hebrew alphabet. The workbooks are visually appealing; the print size and spacing are appropriate for beginning students and the clarity of each page allows students to approach learning without feeling overwhelmed. The light-hearted and fun tone of the series is attractive to both students and teachers.

  • We are using The Aleph Bet Story for the first time this year with our second graders.  Through Sarah and David's use of color, storyline, and creative ways to teach the aleph-bet, our students have been turned on to learning Hebrew.  They look forward to using the book each week in class, and I am happy because my students and their parents are happy.  Thank you for producing a great Hebrew text book for young children and beginners!

  • My name is Faye Holman and I am a second grade teacher at Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El Religious School in Plantation, Florida.  Simona Sklash (Religious School Director) asked me to write you describing my experiences using The Aleph Bet Story in my classroom.  My students love learning the letters, love reading the stories on each page, and love the characters.  They are very excited when I tell them that we are going to practice our Hebrew letters using the book.  I also write the letters on the board, showing the students how to form each letter correctly, and then let them practice the letters on lined primary paper.  I feel that my students will be ready for third grade Hebrew classes after completing this book.  Everyone loves it!

  • I offered to write on behalf of The Aleph Bet Story because I so thoroughly enjoyed using this book to teach the Hebrew letters to my seven-year-old son. The two main characters, Sarah and David, are likable and charming as they guide children through the Hebrew alphabet. My personal favorite is the dialogue between Sarah and her friend Lily that introduces the letter Tet (which is the only letter that is open on top). Sarah asks Lily, “Why is there popcorn coming out of that letter Tet?” Lily responds, “Because Tet is open on top, and Tet can’t hold all the popcorn inside.” It’s refreshing to discover a brand new method for teaching the Hebrew alphabet. My son and I had a great deal of fun with this book, and I was astonished by how quickly he learned the alphabet. I highly recommend The Aleph Bet Story.

  • I love the Sarah and David Hebrew reading system!  I use The Aleph Bet Story to introduce and review the letters and Sarah, David and You Read Hebrew for reading and writing. It’s great that print and script are both integrated into the curriculum and introduced at the same time. The descriptions of the letters help my students to remember each letter and the letter’s sound.  I have found The Sarah and David Hebrew reading system to be a thorough and engaging classroom tool!

  • Thank you so much for presenting the Sarah and David reading program to our teachers in Philadelphia. All who attended gained a greater understanding and appreciation of your curriculum.  The program is very welcoming and gives the students "hints" as how to remember the sound of the letters and vowels.  The website enrichment encourages and enables parents to coach the students at home.  All the accompanying materials are clear, pleasing and encourage students to want to accomplish their reading goals - get a certificate- and proceed to the next step!
